Privacy Policy

The short version: Lockdrill has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your study progress stays on your device. We never sell data.
Who we are
Lockdrill is a Security+ practice app for iPhone and iPad. It is run by Eriz Tolay, a sole trader (enskild firma) in Sweden, who is the data controller for this policy. Contact: support@lockdrill.app.
Data that stays on your device
Your answers, scores, mock exam results, flashcard progress and settings (such as the exam version you study for) are saved only on your device. They are never sent to us. Use "Reset progress" in the app to clear them, or delete the app to remove everything. If your device backs up apps to iCloud, Apple may include this data in your backup under Apple's own privacy policy.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions go through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your name, card details or Apple ID. To check whether you have an active purchase, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID, your purchase history for Lockdrill, and basic technical details such as app version, device model and country. It does not receive your name or email address. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
App updates
The app can download small updates, such as corrected questions, from Expo's update service (expo.dev). Like any web request, this shares your IP address, device type and app version with Expo so the right update can be delivered. We don't use this information to identify you. When you email us
If you report a question or contact support, the app opens your own email app with a pre-filled message. We then receive your email address and whatever you write, including the question number. We use it only to answer you and fix the question. We delete support emails when they're no longer needed, and at the latest two years after the conversation ends, or sooner if you ask.
What we don't do
- No user accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising, and no advertising or tracking IDs.
- No analytics or crash-reporting tools that send data to us.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
Legal basis
We process the limited data above to provide the app and the features you pay for (performance of a contract), and to answer your emails (legitimate interest in supporting our users).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Email support@lockdrill.app. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Lockdrill is meant for people studying for a professional certification. It isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
